Objectives The principal objectives of Certified Ontario Tree Markers are: (1) to develop and promote sound stewardship of Ontario’s forest resources where harvesting is carried out using partial-harvest systems; (2) to take an active role in preventing forest degradation resulting from inappropriate harvesting through the use of partial-harvesting systems; (3) to increase awareness and appreciation of the value of tree marking in partial-harvest systems; and (4) to seek the highest standards in all tree marking activities in Ontario’s forests.
